The question in our own words · page 10

A function \(f\) defined for all real \(x\) has \(\displaystyle\int_1^2 f(x)\,dx>\int_1^3 f(x)\,dx\). Which of four graphs could be \(y=f(x)\)? The paper’s graphs are: a parabola dipping below the axis between \(x=1\) and \(x=3\); a high flat piece up to \(x=2\), then a steep line from below the axis; a line rising from the origin to \(x=2\), then a lower flat piece; and a cubic, negative from \(0\) to \(2\), with a small hump above the axis between \(2\) and \(3\). Ours have the same features; they are in the last Try-it part.
