The question in our own words · page 8
The paper sketches two graphs on one set of axes: \(y=f(x)\), a straight line through the origin sloping down, and \(y=g(x)\), a W-shaped quartic that crosses the \(x\)-axis once left of the origin, at the origin, and twice to the right, with a small hump just right of the origin. Which of four sketches could be \(y=(g\circ f)(x)\)? Here we use our own \(f\) and \(g\) with the same features; the four sketches are in the last Try-it part.
